Tobias Schilling started 18 years ago, in 2004, as an electronics technician for automation technology at DESMA. Three years later, he then decided to continue his education part-time to become an industrial foreman and successfully completed it. After his further education he took a nine-month break at DESMA – after his return Tobias changed to the final inspection and is responsible for activities such as testing of functions and safety, control parameter settings of e.g. hydraulics and temperature. He also performs measurements for cmk (machine capability, repeatability and positioning accuracy of clamping unit and injection unit) and tie rods.

In his private life, Tobias is a ‘helper’ – because he has been a member of the DRK (German Red Cross) since he was 16 years old – starting in the Youth Red Cross in his former home Buchheim. The starting signal was a normal first aid course, later the SNA A and SAN B course were added. Barely of age, Tobias then also switched to active service – and then took further training to become a group leader in order to lead the Youth Red Cross group. During his several years as a group leader, he was also deputy district youth leader for two years. In 2010, due to his move, he then changed to the DRK in Wehingen and is still there as an active DRK’ler.

The DRK in Wehingen has a long tradition, because since 1935 people in and around Wehingen are committed to the DRK. Currently, the readiness has 40 members, who are mainly active in the first-aid service, the first-responder system, civil protection, social services and disaster control.

Tobias belongs to one of our first responders on site in DESMA – for this readiness, whether in the company or also in his spare time, we would like to thank him very much. Everybody needs help, true to the motto: Helping instead of ‘gawking’.
