John Shelton will retire after 38 years of service

John Shelton has been a parts manager at DESMA USA for the past 24 years, supporting customers. During his time at DESMA, he has worked in shipping, cost accounting and inventory management, giving him the industry knowledge and expertise needed to meet the demands of today’s rubber and silicone market.

John’s history dates back to 1982, when the company (then GKN Windsor) initially hired him in the shipping and receiving department. GKN Windsor probably isn’t a familiar name to many, but GKN Windsor (note: the K stood for Klöckner) was a predecessor company to DESMA USA. At the time, the company was based in Erlanger, Kentucky, and built large plastic injection molding machines. John’s division supplied parts to Windsor Machine Shop and received finished subassemblies for final assembly in the United States.
John left the company for a short time in the mid-1990s, but due to management changes, he and DESMA USA reunited in 1998, and he rejoined the team, using his background to handle spare parts for the North American market, where he still works today.

Thank you, John, for your dedication, hard work and support! We will miss you at the office, but we are excited about your new chapter in life. John will be spending time with his grandchildren, watching UK basketball and traveling with his wife.
