Tuesday is RUBBER DAY – End product: CUCAP®

What is the CUCAP®?

Everyone knows them, the delicious filled cupcakes….. but in the production partly very laborious, because you have to scoop out the cupcakes or muffins after baking with a corer or small spoon and then fill. This leaves behind a lot of dough residue….. that is a thing of the past with CUCAP®.

CUCAP® is an innovative baking accessory for quick and easy production of professionally filled cupcakes.

Jessica – who is 33 years old and lives in a neighboring town of DESMA – had the idea back in 2013. Because she didn’t feel like scooping out the pastry every time and throwing away the rest of the cake, she looked for a solution. Out comes the cupcake stopper. After much encouragement, the idea to patent the ‘stopper’ was not until 2019 – and from then on it became serious.
Jessica Schilling spends many months fine-tuning her prototype. She has more models made in a 3D printer to see which stoppers have potential and which don’t. “It took me quite a long time before I finally decided on this model,” she says.

For now, she produced the CUCAPs at her home. To do this, she had her father turn a blank and used it to cast a negative mold out of silicone.

In the meantime, Jessica has found a manufacturer who produces the stoppers according to her ideas. It was important to her that the silicone be food-safe and free of BPA. She produced around 200 CUCAPs herself at home in her kitchen. After producing the first batches in China, Jessica now has the CUCAP® injected on a DESMA machine with compression molding and cold block silicone/HTV at one of our customers, which makes the production process much easier and more flexible.
To date, Jessica has had 100,000 units produced and her range is available online or already in many food supermarkets.
