For 16 years Martin Schürmann was with DESMA. Last Monday, the era ended abruptly for him at our company – and surprisingly for many.
Salzgitter AG, our shareholder, intends to further expand the ‘Technology’ division as part of its strategy.
In order to implement KDE’s own growth strategy while at the same time strengthening our internal performance, we are continuing to pursue proven strategic projects in order to secure the market position we have built up over the long term.
In the course of the realignment, Mr. Martin Schürmann will leave the management of DESMA by mutual agreement and with immediate effect. His previous tasks in the management will be taken over by his colleague, Dr. Michael Zaun, for the time being.

Mr. Schürmann has played a major role in shaping and shaping the company’s growth path. Most recently, he had done much to advance digitization in the industry.
Before Martin Schürmann came to DESMA in Fridingen 16 years ago, he was Managing Director of the South African company of KHS AG in Johannesburg, which also belongs to the Group.
