Until we were able to present ourselves as DESMA in India in the way we do today, it was a constant learning and development process. We had to learn the western cultural understanding from our colleagues first in Germany and then also in the USA. This included an understanding of quality and deadlines, as well as the high performance requirements that Western-style customers placed on us. However, the reverse was and still is the case with our colleagues from the other DESMA locations, to understand what it means in our culture, to know how to implement these requirements.
Thus, the tension between the cultures always has to be beaten in a performance and success-oriented way in the DESMA corporate culture and in the required strategy processes. This is the source of strength for us to be able to grow further in interaction with the other locations. Today, we are proud of what we have achieved and of the further growth prospects that this opens up for us.

DESMA India regularly offers initiatives to promote employee engagement and team spirit. At the Ahmedabad site, we live a team-oriented and open work culture, characterized by respect, love and mutual recognition. The employees are highly motivated, passionate about their work and, in view of the social challenges in India, attach great importance to a good work-life balance.
During the summer vacations, for example, we sponsor workshops at the ‘Ahmedabad Management Association’ for the children of our employees. The program series aims to improve the students’ life skills, behavior and attitudes, which helps them to educate themselves far beyond the school curriculum. At the same time, all children are given the opportunity to develop their well-rounded personalities.
As part of our social responsibility, DESMA India is tirelessly working to bring about positive change in society and strengthen the lives of our children. For this purpose we have a close relationship with the non-profit organization YUVA. Together we have already succeeded in sustainably improving the conditions at the Kathwada School.
